The school community may know me by name and I may well have taught some of your children. I have been a teacher at Uphall Primary School for 10 years and joined the governing body in 2015 My term of office is for 3 years .

I am passionate about the educational standards of children.  I feel that a good education is something that no one can take away from you.  It gives our children the right skills and confidence to meet life’s challenges.  Professionally I have worked in education for 11 years and have been a governor at my son’s school.  Joining Uphall Governing Body I feel that I can contribute not only my skills and knowledge but my open mind, and not being afraid to speak out to ensure that views are heard in a fair and constructive environment.  I have responsibilities in school for IT and am currently the Phase Leader for Years 1 & 2.

    Hi there,

I have recently been appointed to the governing body and am very much looking forward to helping shape the journey of our children and the school.

I’m an unregistered barrister, working as an immigration caseworker for a law centre. Having briefly worked in higher education, I am very keen on using the knowledge acquired in that setting and translating this to an early education environment. Having a solid educational foundation is so important in helping children have a well-rounded outlook on life. School should be a place where children have the freedom to explore the talents they have and how they can use them to impact their community and local world. In addition, I am a Sunday School teacher at Barking Methodist Church and heavily involved in cultivating a good educational and pastoral environment for our children. For the past three years, I have also been a member of the management committee for a charity called the Free Representation Unit where we have been dealing with changing the governance of the charity. All skills and experiences which will help me in contributing to Uphall Primary School achieving its fullest potential!
