I am writing to you today (Friday 17th October 2025) from Kazakhstan. I feel very privileged to have been invited to speak at the first ever World Inclusion Congress, representing the Thinking Schools Federation. This has been a fantastic opportunity to share with the world the inclusive practices we have developed at our schools and also to learn from so many esteemed colleagues. This is also a great achievement for our school communities, including all our children, the staff teams and our parents.
Yesterday I shared with an audience of professionals how we have developed a values based curriculum at our school. I explained that if we want our children to be kind and respectful, we must show them kindness and respect. And as adults, we must show kindness and respect to each other.
At our schools, we can only be as successful as the child that is achieving the least or is feeling sad or not included.
We want our schools to be places of joy in which everyone is learning and progressing. I look forward to sharing with you more next week.
